Decarbonising High-Speed Maritime Transport
Artemis Technologies is a world leading maritime design and applied technologies company driven by a desire to shape a more sustainable future for our planet.
Determined to revolutionise people’s perceptions and behaviours towards travel, their groundbreaking Artemis eFoiler® electric propulsion system and zero emission vessels promise to redefine maritime transport – paving the way towards a cleaner, greener maritime industry.
Built on a legacy of advanced engineering (born from the illustrious Artemis Racing America’s Cup team) they use their extensive expertise to design, develop, and deliver tailored solutions to clients across the commercial and high performance sectors.
The Artemis eFoiler®
The Artemis eFoiler®, a game-changing electric propulsion system for high-speed vessels, is a transformative technology that can be applied across various sectors, including workboats, passenger ferries, crew transfer vessels, and leisure craft.
The platform represents a paradigm shift in decarbonising high-speed maritime transport, offering zero-emission solutions with a multitude of benefits for operators and passengers alike.
By integrating a high-power density electric drivetrain into an autonomously controlled hydrofoil, the patented technology combines proven elements from yacht racing, motorsport, and aerospace. This integration not only ensures commercially viable range for high-speed electric vessels but also unlocks operational, economic, ecological, and social advantages on a global scale.
In 2022, Artemis Technologies launched to market the world’s first commercially viable zero-emission, 100% electric range of foiling workboats and the world’s most advanced, 100% electric, 150-seater passenger ferry, the Artemis EF-24 Passenger.
The Company has also recently added a luxury water taxi, the Artemis EF-12 Escape, to the portfolio.
Artemis EF-24 Passenger
Powered by the patented Artemis eFoiler® electric propulsion system, the 24m vessel will fly above the water, providing a comfortable ride for up to 150 passengers on board, mitigating effects of seasickness and producing minimal wake at high-speed. This significantly reduces the impact on shorelines and produces incredible fuel savings of up to 85% compared to conventional high-speed diesel ferries.
The EF-24 is among several zero-emission vessels being developed in Belfast, Northern Ireland, as part of Artemis Technologies’ ambitious drive to provide green transport solutions worldwide.
