Exceedence is a consultancy specialising in offshore renewable energy, with a strong emphasis on techno-financial modelling, analysis, and optimisation. Established in 2015, the company originated from a deep tech initiative at University College Cork in 2008/09, which identified the need for standardised software tools to support the growing offshore renewable energy sector.
Central to Exceedence’s offerings is their proprietary software, Exfin. Exfin is a powerful techno-financial modelling tool designed specifically for the renewable energy sector. It enables developers, investors, and stakeholders to model, analyse, and optimise the financial performance of offshore energy technologies and projects.
Exceedence’s core focus is on offshore energy, including offshore wind, floating wind, wave, tidal and floating PV energy. The company has been involved in numerous high-impact projects that showcase its technical and financial expertise. A key project demonstrating Exceedence’s commitment to offshore innovation is the EU SCORES project (European Scalable Offshore Renewable Energy Sources) Exceedence’s role in the SCORES project involves delivering techno-financial modelling and analysis to ensure the economic viability of this complex multi-technology system looking at the benefits of co-location of renewable technologies like wind, wave and floating PV
